I am so sorry to report that we are also required by Gov. Inslee’s proclamation to close from Tuesday, March 17-April 24, 2020.
We care deeply for each student and desire to keep them up-to-date with everything they need to learn. This state-wide school closure mandate is not a vacation for any of us, it is an opportunity to learn in a different way. We do not want students to fall behind, nor do we want to require families to alter their summer plans. We want to provide the best education possible during this time of the unknown. God is in control and we are all praying Psalm 91 over WA, the USA, and the world. We are praying that COVID-19 never comes to Clallam county/any of our OCP/OCS families. We are trusting the Lord!
Distance Learning March 17-April 24
Preschool/Pre-K families: Mrs. Murphy and Mrs. Ruiz will be in touch with you in regards to the distance learning that will take place over the next 6 weeks (April 6-10 still remains as Spring Break, so no distance learning will be assigned that week).
K-8th Grade families: We will continue through distance learning over the next 6 weeks (April 6-10 still remains as Spring Break, so no distance learning will be assigned that week). Teachers will be touching base each school day via Jupiter Ed (http://jupitered.com/). If you need your log-in information, please reach out to us! All students 5th-8th grade know how to log-on to Jupiter Ed. Staff will be posting daily assignments, instructions, links to teaching videos, uploading their own teaching videos, etc. This is a groundbreaking time for OCS as we have never ventured into this world of distance learning as a whole school before. There might need to be some tweaks along the way; we appreciate your patience in this new process.
Please reach out to us with any questions. Praying for God to move in mighty ways and bring us all back to school soon!
